Value of Old Banknotes from The Northern Bank of Winnipeg, Canada
Old Money from The Northern Bank of Winnipeg
The Northern Bank opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1905. In 1908 the name was changed to The Northern Crown Bank. The Northern Bank issued some beautiful bank notes while it was operating under that name. The British American Bank Note Co. Ottawa printed five, ten, twenty, and fifty dollar bank notes. Each note is dated as Nov. 1st 1905. D.H. McMillan has his engraved signature on all bank notes. All denominations are rare, but the $20 and $50 note are especially scarce. The $5, $10, and $20 bill we have shown are issued bank notes. The $50 bill is a proof. Issued bank notes have serial numbers and signatures. They are always worth much more than proof notes. We would welcome the chance to purchase any bank notes from The Northern Bank.
