Value of Old Banknotes from The Crown Bank of Canada in Toronto

Old Money from The Crown Bank of Canada in Toronto

The Crown Bank of Canada was only open from 1904 until 1908.  At that time it joined with The Northern Bank to become the Northern Crown Bank.  Fortunately for collectors though, some very rare bank notes exist from The Crown Bank of Canada.  They are all dated as either June 1st 1904 or 1st June 1904.  There is an engraved signature on the left hand side of the note for Edward Gurney.  There should be a pen-signed name on the right hand side of the note.  The British American Bank Note Co. Ottawa printed five, ten, twenty, and fifty dollar bills for the bank.  Five dollar bills are occasionally available.  All other denominations are extremely scarce.  We would welcome the chance to purchase any bank note from this institution.  Please contact us for a free appraisal.
