Value of Old Banknotes from The Farmers Bank of Canada in Toronto
Old Money from The Farmers Bank of Canada in Toronto
The Farmers Bank of Canada opened in Toronto in 1906. Corrupt management was the contributing factor to the bank’s closure in 1910. The good news is that bank notes were issued. They are dated as Jan. 2nd 1907 and Sept. 1st 1908. It doesn’t matter if you have a January or September date, all of these are rare. Signors include W.B. Nesbitt, James Munro, A.W. Kersell, T.H. Weir, and H.A. Rinshaw. The British American Bank Note Co. Ottawa printed $5, $10, $25, $50, and $100 bills for use by The Farmers Bank of Canada. Occasionally the five dollar bills are available. All other denominations are extremely scarce. We would certainly welcome the chance to purchase any of these bank notes. We happily provide free appraisals.
