Value of Old Banknotes from The United Empire Bank of Canada in Toronto
Old Money from The United Empire Bank of Canada in Toronto
This bank was originally named The Pacific Bank of Canada. However, in late 1906 it changed its name to The United Empire Bank of Canada and started issuing currency. All bank notes were printed by The American Bank Note Company, Ottawa. They are dated as 1st August 1906. The signor on the right hand side of the note is Saml. Barker. The left signor could be any bank officer. The United Empire Bank of Canada issued $5 and $10 bills. Both denominations are very rare today. In 1911 the bank was purchased by The Union Bank of Canada. Please contact us if you have a bank note and would like to sell it or want a free appraisal.
