Value of June 1st 1878 $1 Bill from The Dominion of Canada
Dominion of Canada June 1st 1878 One Dollar Bill
Description: These are not the single most popular bank notes issued by The Dominion of Canada, but an 1878 $1 bill is needed for a type design set. The lady in the center of each note is the Countess of Dufferin. The back shows the great seal of Canada. Be warned that counterfeits do exist. Send us pictures of your bank note and we can tell you if it is real or fake.
Varieties: We are showing an 1878 $1 bill with red serial numbers, payable at Toronto, with a lettered border. Your note could be similar or it could have blue, black, or green serial numbers; and it could be marked as payable at Montreal, St. John, or Halifax. The border of your note might be scalloped instead of saying “1 one dollar” repeatedly. Each border style and each location has its own rarity. Please contact us for details.
